About this publication
Estetica Design Forum takes one visible move on the screen at a time, says where it came from, and says plainly what it costs.
The subject is screen aesthetics treated as a moving target rather than a matter of preference: the swings in type, colour, layout and motion, what caused each one, and how long each turn of the cycle tends to last. Forum here means the subject gets argued about in print.
What we argue about
The move, never the maker. A trend is described as a trend, with its mechanism and its bill; no site, studio or product is named to praise or criticise, and nothing here is a tutorial. Six standing sections cover type at size, ground and colour, the broken grid, motion, dark mode and inherited defaults.
How it is put together
Every entry is written to be read once and referred back to. Photographs are commissioned or licensed for the section they sit in, captioned to say the thing the picture cannot, and credited quietly underneath. The reading pages carry the material the writers judged worth lifting out of the flow — chronologies, vocabulary, failure modes — set apart from the prose rather than buried in it.
Every piece on the site is listed in one place.
