Whats the difference between UNIX and Windows hosting?

Well there is a big debate on whats better and why. As many geeks may say Unix is better some people might say Windows is better, it all depends on what your doing..

I use Unix at current but due to work efforts will be changing to Windows for ASPX language

Generally it will come down to the way you program. If you are using MS Database Engine, you will need Windows hosting (ASP, etc).
Most OpenSource applications are for UNIX based systems.

I was under the impression that Joe had asked a "forum" of people for their point of view on something. And if I am wrong about the difference between Unix and Windows servers.. please continue to educate me further with your expertise on the subject.
