Yes, I know it's not good to have it in a subdir, but my server is currently down due to financial reasons.

the layout seems ok to me, it's the colours I think could do with a bit of work, have a look at some of the online colour scheme generators and find something unique and not so much in your face. Good start thought. (Welcome aboard)

I don't mind the blue but the green is a little over the top. Space the sections out a little and you're off to a good start. Failling that if you're a developer there's no reason why you can't make a deal with a designer to build you the front end and offer your dev skills in return if they ever needed help.
