Default Exposure Self

Ok, just finished this site for my cousin. It's a tiny brochure site to show off his photography. It's entirely built off his visuals so I have had pretty much zero creative input. All validate though, naturally.

I didn't put this in the critique thread, 'cos I'm not really after any to be honest, it was a quick in-out jobbie but feel free to give some (only re. code as that's all I really did) if you want. I just thought I'd put it out there for you too look at. Although I do like the domain he picked lol - Exposure Self - The portfolio of Ben Coletta, London based photographer

exposure self?

expos ure self?

expose yourself?

is that just me? :p

the thing that gets me is the fact it has a border on the pages but switching between the pages they are not fixed length which is quite off putting - also the contact form displays for a few second then disappears and the page collapses (firefox 2.0.0.11)

otherwise i like the black grey and white look

Haha, it's not you. It's meant to be "memorable" lol. The pun is intended! And I agree on all points outlined by your good self Ian. He categorically stated that he wanted the contact form hiding then accessing through JS (click the "Preset form" link). It's inaccessible and illogical I know, but he saw it on my site.

Yeah, that's because: To make the form accessible to users without JS I hid the form using JS as opposed to CSS. This way users without JS can still see the form, because it takes JS to hide it in the 1st place. The JS event handler is called through the body tag which means there is some latency in it's activation. Phew, pass my inhaler.

It works as well as it can I'm afraid. I'm not overly keen on the set up either but oh well...

Looks nice Harry
I'm not a fan of splash pages though. I like a site to just open to the main page.
As for the "contact" page.. it looks and works fine. I would just make a more apparent link to open the slider. Maybe a tab or something.
I am VERY glad to see you writing all nice and valid XHTML & CSS... GOOD JOB !!!

No, well he wanted a splash page, and seeing as he want to refer people to his site as opposed to the site refer people to him, it shouldn't be a problem too much.

Also, yeah, need the slider to be more apparent, I'm waiting for him to get back to me about it.

And with regards the validate markup etc, would it b any other way?? :D lol

Thanks for the comments.
