People use bigger screens now.

Fluid = re-sizable at all widths

(This site is fluid)

Set the outer border as 90% instead of say 900px then objects will shrink with the page width.

Yep.. and its interesting how they all use the original code from Mike Foster over at Crossbrowser.com to code their pages...

In fact, I like the one you listed here: CSS layouts: liquid, fluid, elastic, flexible... it's almost identicle to Sitepoint.com technique that was first demostrated here:

Collapsible 3-Column Layout

I'm still a big fan of that 'Dockable Nav' technique... VERY Cool.
