Default New Site - Feedback is greatly appreciated

This is a site i've been working on for a couple weeks. I believe its design is solid and functional but lacks any flare or excitement. Any suggestions on how to make it more visually appealing or enhance the design aspect will be greatly appreciated. I am more of a coder then a graphic designer and need critiquing so that i may improve my skills.

It's the header really that lets it down, bring the header to life and it will be a big improvement, also the use of Arial all over makes it look a little flat why not do the main headings in Trebuchet to add a little variety.

Yes,
I agree the header is quite bad. I am still trying to make another one but its not going well lol.
As far as the typography, i'll have to try that out. Thanks for the suggestion. Any more feedback is welcome to ;P

You need to work more on the design, mate.
Better get a pen and some paper, and draw exactly what you think of. Then you could think about details.
The header needs some more work..the logo and the text. The menus are also quite random, plus the text is quite hard to read.
I might sound harsh, but I'm trying to give a hand.

I could think of a few things that i would try. First i would change the font (it feels a bit old). Then i also think it feels a bit cut into pieces (it doesn't really go together). So yeah, try to make it flow together more and use another font.

Some things that i like and think you should keep is the color scheme (but don't use a too dark blue) and i think the layout works just fine.

I hope it helps you and don't take anything personally (i don't think you will though) =)

Cheers mate!

Photos are worth a million. I see too many times where a website doesn't have any and it makes the design look stale. People in a photo really enhance a persons visit to your site. If they look happy, then you'll get positive feedback and possibly new clients.
