hi all

i am ronald and id like to show my website here;
ive started my website about a year ago with its design and made some template in it and put it online

since last week i thought that the whole site could/should be renewed because it really was made below my level of designing so therefore i was thinking what i should make and also thought of my own logo because i didnt have it before and then i created Ronald Designs which makes a pretty good standaard for a design website.

i also renewed my css sheet because it was a huge mess on my old website and cant call it a stylesheet anymore but some made up text styles with no sence. i also have got a new host and domain last week which is way faster and has huge BW p/m and that is a very good deal because besides webdesigning i also make use of 3d (animations) and film projects which are large.

id like to have some comments and feedback what could be better or what weird etc. because im still improving my site at more point and i dont think its perfect ( i never think its perfect there can allways be done something ;) )

i'm sorry but personally i don't like it at all - design wise

1. the flash bit at the begining took a while to kick in and i was bored before if finished.

2. after the flash finishes it should really go straight to your home page, i shouldn't have to click anything - that's why i hate flash intros

3. dodgy drop shadow on your "ronald designs" title graphic - it's horrible

4. going from your flash intro to your main site i expected more - i was disappointed

the layout is quite nifty and different which i like and i like the 'rd' logo type, but i think it needs a rethink on the elements i poiinted out.

It's not that bad for someone who's been doing it for only a year.

The main things that bother me are the splash page and the positioning of the main content it sits to the right and should really be centrered on everyones screen.

It's not too cluttered so keep it nice and simple.

The positives are it is nice and clean looking, it loads fast, it's a nice layout to builf on.

Bad points are the position and the splash page without a doubt.

i just made the intro yesterday and i also wasnt totally happy with it but i used to have the automatic forward code in flash with my old site but i forwarded in a popup thats why i removed it but now im going to implent because i wasnt sure if it was so needed but it is

i will also going to use a preloader since it is a bit big and im going to do something about the ronald designs text because i also admit it bores me a bit

toon what do you mean by splashpage?is that the intro screen or smt?

i got a few years started with webdesign on my education and i was satisfied with stuff that now scares the s^&t out of me. i still like to make projects for people.

design-wise i do quite like it, but all the things i found to be wrong with it have pretty much already been said.
I also started designing websites just over a year ago (i started in may last year) so its nice to have a relative noob here with me!
i know that your target market is probably predominantly in the Netherlands, but maybe having a page in english too would be a good idea? it would probably boost you potential target audience a lot, currently i'm having a translation of my website into a few other languages, as i get a lot of visitors from countries such as china, but its no use if they cant understand a word of my content!
just a few ideas,
