Default Opinions Please...

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum so first, let me introduce myself: My name is Harry Roberts, I am 16, I live in West Yorkshire (England) and I have a keen interest in design.

Anyway, intro over, please can you give some critique on a current project of mine? It's at Home :: PR Design Web Team - Web Design, Devlopment & Maintenance In West Yorkshire. This isn't the finished look, it's crammed with various elements at the minute just to give an idea of what things (may) look like when it's done. All comments welcome!!! Thanks in advance, Harry

PS. There are drop-down menus on the main nav but IE (true to form) can't hack them, I'm trying to get it debugged but to view them, try FF) Thanks

I quite like it, not fond of the brown header but it's coded pretty well and it's nice and clean, well done

The menus a little large for me but the rest seems quite nice

Toon,
I agree to be honest, it doesn't seem to go does it? Well PR Design is a 2 man outfit, so im waiting for my colleague to get back with his ideas for that bit.

Laura Lynne,
I also agree with you on the whole size thing, I've been redrafting a "down-size" fot the menus, the text is large and even that looks lost with the hover b-ground!

Work in progress...

Thanks for the comments,
Harry

pick 2 fonts, and stick with those. You've got alot of different fonts on here

having the quick contact is a great marketing strat.

The color combination looks good but I don't think having a bold text is a great idea...

Thanks all. You guys are seriously picking up on things that have been bothering me too. I think that the font used in the sidebar ("Quick Contact", "Services" etc) needs to go, I think maybe it's too "stylized" for where it is, unnecessary really...

yes i agree, it's far to fancy for the type of site you are doing - especially as to where it is being used. that was the first thing i picked up on :) like toon not keen oon the brown header but i like the green and dark grey combo.

Hey there,

I agree with Toon, i'm not too keen on the brown header either. The menu buttons are also a little to large in my opinion. But apart from those two points, it seems fine to me :D
