Get rid of the splash page
Can you please critique my site ross.gendels.design and give me some ideas for change? Thanks mates.

Get rid of the splash page
What do you all think of the design? I have been uneasy about it for a while.
Uhm, splash page needs to go, and you need to learn to code properly.
It really isn't a website. There's no text on any page, and it uses tables and sliced images. Need to start again I'm afraid.
I don't know how to code at all, so I just slice and dice in cs3 than import it into dreamweaver ... but I think majority vote says the splash needs to go and I need a better home page... What else?
Optimise images and really, learn how to code a simple site in CSS. Or pay a developer to do it for you (PM me if you like, I can give you a decent price to code that very same site up). Also, try making it occupy more of the screen. I see lots of white.
I agree with the above. Maybe you could use one of those PSD to HTML services.. they seem to be pretty cheap.
As for the design, the graphics look pretty good to me. The main thing that bothered me was the white page background.. maybe black would suit it better?
I'll echo others on this thread: get rid of the the splash screen, improve the home page, and recode the site.
The "taped-up scraps" is too much for me on this site. You're making important things, like your menu, like after-thoughts or something you're not quite committed to. Also, because of the excessive use of "handmade" motifs, this site makes you looks like you're confusing trend with design.
You could do a lot more, design-wise, here with a lot less.
Hope this helps.
