It's not so much the speed it's the image map. This mac's connected at about 36 meg per second but the image map still loads up the top right first then the next will load.

All in all it only takes about 4 seconds but it looks choppy.

yeah i used slices to create the site...maybe i needed to reduce the image quality? or smaller slices?

The best way is to have one large background image then type and add elements over the top.
