Scolling's just not good at all if you've really got that much content try using smooth scroll.js...

http://www.kryogenix.org/code/browser/smoothscroll/#p20

It doesn't look much but hidden behind a well designed layout is works quite well.

have to agree with the scrolling...

Despite posing well-known risks, websites continue to feature poorly designed scrollbars. Among the ongoing problems that result are frustrated users, accessibility challenges, and missed content.

Ok - other than the scrolling thing which may or may not be an issue depending on how much content/type of content you have.
I'd say theres a fair amount of space to the right that could be used better maybe.
Also you may wish to adapt the effect on the buttons - i think its really cool but on some of them (like gigs) the cuts make it harder to read, therefore harder to navigate.

As yet i'm not sure of the content the clients going to provide, so i agree with you and the scrolling may not be final.
The effect is actually part of the font, so i'll have to play around a little modifying it in photoshop. Glad you pointed that out as i aim to make it as useable as possible.
As for the space i'm still working on the 800x600 principle, although nowdays very few people still use that resolution, but thats the space explination.

Gaz - if you fancy getting more into the type, try experimenting with it yourself.

I mean you could do:
On Computer
1. Take the font part in illustrator and add/chop lines as you wish. or indeed start with another font and go from fresh.

By Hand
2.Experiment if you have time. Printing out on to acetate allows you to scratch it off. Or get those letraset letters (the ones you ruboff a sheet with a pencil) and again, you can create this effect.

3.Or get some material that breaks how you want it to and scan that in a sample that over a bold font.

This are all just suggestions but it makes the effect much more individual and also means that letters vary, because the effect is random.
