Default KH-Labz.net new concept

Hi there,

My current site can be found at www.kh-labz.net .

I have began re-designing the site completely, and would just like your opinions on the concept design I have came up with. The link below will take you to the design concept.

Thanks,

Like the logo on the new site concept, but the overall page feels a bit too dark, too much blue. Perhaps consider ditching the background blue and just keep the navigation and banner darker.

yeah i'd agree with sarah on lightening it a little but the overall look is very good and much more professional. You may wish to consider making the navigation less in height - this will not only balance more but allow less scrolling on some screens and could be the difference between that extra business and people missing a link or something.

Hi there,

i've took into account your advice and have made changes to the design.

Again, any advice would be greatly appreciated, I want this website to be as good as possible so just say if you don't like something etc.

Thanks in advance,

Kieren

thats looking good - you could also place a bottom bar of the blue below all the of the content but thats more optional.

i've actually already done that, just not enough room on the screen to take a screenshot of the whole thing.

i figured you might have done when I said it.

also, had a little contrast into your text - bold titles or dark grey and things can be used effectively on things like dates.

The titles ('welcome to' and 'news') could well be in the same typeface as your navigation buttons - but in a off-grey. Verdana as you have used for your copy is a good web choice, as it is designed to be highly visible, but also as it compliments many typefaces, particularly sans serifs.

hmmm...I'm not too sure about the plain white background, what colour (other than blue) do you think would go well?
