The problem is even though it can handle tabbed browing, it's easy to overload it if many of those tabs are running scripts. ie. If you make a post on the forum and the Ajax quick reply script is opening, an Ajax script on your gmail or yahoo mail is searching for new mail, you-tube is playing a video etc. It really can get itself in a mess. I have 10 tabs open on start up but depending on what I'm doing can have over 30 open, if it starts to drag I have to restart it to freshen it up a bit but it's never crashed on me, (apart from the validator website).

Default Handy stuff for Firefox.

Here are some nifty little add-ons that I've found for firefox, recently, type them into the extensions search engine and they'll come up.

1) Firefox Showcase - works as a means of instantly displaying all your tabs in one window as thumbnails, can be set as a side bar or pop up.

2)Speed Dial - loads up in a blank tab - it's a series of thumbnails that you can save your website to, as if a speed dial on a phone - click the thumb nail (or press Ctrl +1,2,3 ect) and you are taken to that page - each thumbnail refreshed periodically and you can adjust how many rows and columns of thumbnails you want.

3)Track Me Not - If you're worried that people might be building up profile information based upon the searches you make within popular search engines, then this is for you. Track Me not sits in the background of firefox and constantly submits random and innocent search queries to popular search engines so that anybody trying to build any information on particularly searched you make (IE "Porno Pics of Milf" :p), then that person finds themselves lost in a sea of dead ends and nonsense searches.

Fuuny thing is, every firefox addon they bring out is a direct copy of an opera plugin, they don't even bother renaming them
