Default How to Create a Font making it a usable TTF file?

this is the first time im making a font, so im kinda new on the whole thing

I finished all the characters but where do i do the kerning? and how do i convert my fonts to a ttf file?
need help pls

oh and this is my first post. hi all

you need to buy your self a font program like fontographer -they do cost a bit though. The other idea is fontshops' font struct program which allows type to be made from a range of blocks (like typo-lego!) but the end file will need to be kerned manually...

ummm, whats this fontographer, does it also make fonts or just edit them?
and where can i get a fontstruct program? is it free? where can I download fontographer for windows

Like i said, I dont need to make a font i just need to make it a usable ttf file and theres no way im doing this all over again ><, or do i just have to copy paste everything there or something, you know what i mean coz i did mine in illustrator, and im using windows not Mac.

you tend to have to import and redraw and adjust...I don't know where you can get fontographer - do a goodle serach - its not cheap though.

oh crap, lols why do i have do adjust? isnt it supposed to show the exact font i imported.
if im just adjusting the size or repositioning then thats ok

I don't think you can expect wonders if you designed a font in software not built for designing fonts... There will most likely be some work/adjustments need doing.

There is an open source font design programme called Font Forge, which is available through sourceforge. I have no idea what it's like, I've never used it, but won't cost anything to find out. If you decide to try it out, then why not post a review here for the rest of the members.
