Default Question about font licensing

I have a client who wants to start a new free monthly tabloid newspaper in his locality. In order to see if this is a viable proposition he is starting with two monthly runs of something in the order of 5,000 to 10,000 each.

We'll probably be choosing two fonts a serif and a sans serif. Question is: would you advise him to buy them? And once purchased, presumably that is the same as licensing?

Yes buy them, although if he's not that specific about what he wants there may be a few free fonts worth using

Agreed with toon.. I'd go for a good family that might have a sans and a serif (if you want them to be similar) such as charlotte... Fonts can vary from a few hundred pounds to around 12 - Anivers was one I bought. Not used it properly yet but looks gorge on the test sheets I did.

Thanks guys, I'll be advising him to buy them. And I think a sans serif with a few condensed weights will come in handy in a newspaper.
