Default Font issue with OS X

Hi all,

I'm have a problem with fonts on OS X. When I visit a site that has the font family defined as 'serif', the text on the page is unreadable.I assume I've therefore got a font missing. Does anyone know what font OS X defaults to for serif fonts?

Cheers

I thought that but I've checked and it's not Georgia or Times. It's not a major problem as most sites define an actual font. The only site I'm really having problems with is wikipedia

I'd suggest installing Firebug and edit the CSS on the fly for the time being. Just change it to something you can read.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing at the moment with the firefox developer toolbar. If I can work out what font it's being displayed in at the moment, and deleted it, then hopefullly OS X would default to a different serif font. Anyone have any idea on the font?
