Can anyone guide me as to how to add 3D effects to text ? Not like standard embossing..i mean really prominent 3D effects - to make them look blocky (for lack of a better word .. ) for example..

Thanks for the help, Don't have illustrator...and Maya is wayyyy out of my league! I thought there was probably some plugin I could use. I heard there used to be a 3d plugin for PS..

Actually, doing that in maya is very simple. You just create some text outlines and loft. Have more faith in your ability to learn.
