Default Official Letter from Google AdSense

Ohh well...

FROM THEM:

Hello,

While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we've decided to disable your account.

Please understand that we consider this a necessary step to protect the interests of both our advertisers and our other AdSense publishers. We realize the inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

If you have any questions about your account or the actions we've taken, please do not reply to this email. You can find more information by visiting https://www.google.com/adsense/suppo...57153&hl=en_US.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

and ...

THE APPEAL:
I don't know how or who could be inappropriately clicking ads on my site. Adsense is completely new to me. I do not promote the clicking of ads anywhere, at any time. I am the sole proprietor and contributor to my site & I know that I have NEVER clicked an ad on my site.

I have read online about similar cases where one or two single users decide to sit on a site and click ads for hours on end, thus causing a surge in my daily ad clicks. I am unaware of any persons whom could be responsible for that activity; although I believe there may be certain a competitor(s) involved who do not share in the recent rise and success of my new site and format.

Google makes no information available to me as to whom may be clicking on those ads, so I find it difficult to deter those actions of others. If such information were available, I could possibly deny those IP addresses access to my site. As it stands now ANY malevolent user can bring down a legitimate source of revenue... how am I supposed to control that?

I have searched your FAQ's, the Adsense blog... everywhere throughout the internet looking for means or tips to stop or prevent this from happening. If you have any suggestions or controls, I would immediately put those into effect. At this minute I am torn between trying to protect myself from this malevolent activity and banning IP addresses of potential legitimate clients. Please help, and advise me as to how I can protect my site in the future.

Sincerely,
Tommy Logic

Why don't you suggest (I'm not imagining you will get much of a response, but anyway) that Google improve their Ad-Sense system by disallowing multiple clicks to one Ad, from the same I.P. within a given time frame. Surely nobody can deny that it has to be something for Google themselves to tackle properly and systematically. Simply banning sites such as yours that have been targeted by malicious digit stabbers, just isn't a reasonable solution.

Yeah, I indirectly said that. There only option is for the person whom owns the ads to block IP's. In reality, Google doesn't want people to stop clicking, thats how they make money. Their whole system is full of holes.

Is it not the case that these are click-through Ads. In which case, it must be their servers that are counting the click-throughs, which they must be able to disallow on an I.P. basis.

I take your point about Google not really wanting stop anything, but on the other hand it's them that's disabling your account.

tommylogic, I feel your pain. I had my adsense account disabled a while ago and with a very vague reason behind it. Very similar to your email. My appeal email was slightly more wordy and lengthy but same point. Sadly it did not go well for me and it took them about 2 weeks to respond to me. I'm still most bitter over it all as it is a very permanent decision that greatly reduced the amount of profit I made off of any ad driven websites :(

Hope it goes better for you.

Just curious....what is Adsense and why would you want to be involved with it?

Otherwise, I understand the clicking and I agree with Tommy that they should fill the holes, but they don't want to lose the clicks.

Google AdSense is a free and easy way for website publishers of all sizes to display relevant Google ads on their website's content pages and earn money. The ads are related to what your visitors are looking for on your site — or matched to the characteristics and interests of the visitors your content attracts.
AdSense for content automatically crawls the content of your pages and delivers ads (you can choose both text or image ads) that are relevant to your audience and your site content—ads so well-matched, in fact, that your readers will actually find them useful.
The ads on this site are by google, it's really good because the ads are relevant to the content, usually meaning if you can't find an answer to the question on the site there are other sites available.

But how can someone inappropriately click on an ad and what is the benefit to clicking on it more than once?
