Can someone explain please?

Hi all.
My site has a Google PR of 4, which is pretty good isn't it? Also, my site is showcased on 22+ CSS galleries. But why does Google only show a few link backs? Can anyone explain why this happens?

Because google have a way, don't ask me how, of counting relevant backlinks you can enter your site in 500+ directories but google knows which are trusted and which aren't

Just curious, Have any links to the sites that have linked you but dont show up on google for you?

Like some of the css sites your site is on, But dont show up in the google search for link:yousite.com , nvm lol

I'm on these: About :: Harry Roberts Design - Freelance Web, Print and Identity Design Cleckheaton (West Yorkshire) (see bottom) but Google hardly shows any!

But that's not considered a valid backlink, it's a free gallery site that doesn't pull much strength, get a link on their home page and your talking but buried amongst an archive of other site isn't going to help much.

Look at the actual location of your link..

http://cssmania.com/galleries/2007/07/26/harry-roberts-design.php

Look at how many directories you are off the main index. That's the main reason why, the more of these gallery sites that get built the more and more will be scrapped as valid link backs.
