I find it more amazing that they can generate the SERP's so fast given the size of the index, and then hand it off to the ad server guys to place adds on the page related to the search results. Then present you with a page before you can say click. I invited one of their engineers Matt Cutts to my neighborhood BBQ, no reply yet.

Well I'm running pretty close to a petabyte at home already...With technology evolving rapidly every second, I'd say I could get a petabyte before the year ends.
