Default Form Mailer

I'm looking for a simple and secure script (preferably a self installer) to handle Form Mail from my server. It could be PHP or MySQL or both.

Any Suggestions?

As in an "Add yourself to the mailing list" type thing or a contact script whereby an email is sent through a form?

correct about the form... what I need is preferably an installable CGI script to install that handler to my server. It will most likely be a Perl or Python script that I can run. I could do it with a PHP script, but I would have to re-write my pages as PHP... which I'm not terribly good at.
