Default Making my own content management system

Has anyone got any web links to help me to make my own content management system?

I want to be able to allow my client to log-in and change all of the different sections on the site including all bits of text. Nothing as advanced as adding new pages etc, just once the basic structure of the site is made they can alter any of the text and images etc contained within it.

Thanks in advance.

You want to build your own CMS or you want links to current CMS systems?

Build my own, I have used Joomla and a few others but find them more trouble than help at times.

I just want a very straightforward system.

Or, if you want a simple solution (not making new pages) I highly recommend BlogoText : your blog doesn't need a database.

I really think you should reconsider rolling your own. Have you tried Drupal it is very good and allows you to program your own modules if you can't find what you need. If you insist on writing your own at least give your self a head start and use something like codeignitor as the base. It will save you loads of time.

Why not use Wordpress?

I understand your pain with Joomla.. did you know it was originally php-nuke? then it was mambo... It's been around for a while and hundreds of people have messed with it... I downloaded the source today... 1,700 files... it's not worth it... neither is phpBB last time I checked ( version 2 ) unless your interested in the database structure which imo is really nice...

Do not start your own from scratch... your asking for trouble... but do find a leightweight cms which you can wrap your head around...

Wordpress only has 400 files and when I looked at the code a few months ago... it had some fairly nice techniques which I had never seen before...

If your an OOP fanatic... drupal might be a good choice... who knows really? I have never really used it...

My recommendation is wordpress for the sheer simplicity of it... however... I have never actually used it...

Stay away from egroupware at all costs....
