Default Java Scripts (hard to locate)

I was informed that java can do almost the same as PHP. I was also informed that there are java scripts two in perticular I am looking for one of which is a gallery type script whereas when you hover your mouse over a thumb nail it pops up or loads or whatever the full image. And another javascript was where as if you have thumb nails of movies when the user clicks the movie with some animation the full player loads ready to play the movie based on the user hitting the play button. Oh and also a roll over script where you can link to another page but using two images.

If anyone knows where to find scripts that do that, and can be inserting into exsiting HTML code and can be edited with not much hasstle please let me know.

Thanks, those links are good but don't you know anything specific and right to the point. I just seems like a maze of stuff but I just get lost.

Image roll over script whereas it's mostly used for navigational buttons

Image roll over whereas just by rolling your mouse over the thumbnail the full size image appears, no clicking needed.

Yeah I suppose I'll just use CSS. You know what though on CSS play he doesn't show with some things on how to create it, if it has a few extra steps you gotta contact him, which usually he never gets back to you. Or on his forum which sometimes you don't get the right answer or understanding other peoples answer.
