Ok. ASP is a top down language like PHP. YES IT IS!
ASP a.k.a. Classic ASP is a non-compiled language written with either VBScript or JavaScript. It was made my m@cro$haft to directly compete with PHP and they didn't do a bad job. Granted it had 3 major releases but PHP has 5 and counting.
Now, ASP.Net is the web development portion of the Microsoft.Net platform. It's not even in the same class as PHP and ASP. It's m@acro$hat's big 800lb gorilla to directly take on Java, and it's doing it, and to present a solid OOP platform for the entire enterprise programming club.
So please please when you refer to ASP use ASP and when you're talking about ASP.Net use ASP.Net. Please. This isn't the only time you'll here me say it but this will be only new thread I'll make about it.
