Theres not a lot to say about it really - its a standard lens. Does the job and, to be honest, it does it really well. However there are a lot better lenses out there...unless your looking for something specific, I'de go for this lens and a 70-300mm tos tart with. Tehn decide what you wanna shoot and chose your lenses accordingly.
nope ur not wrong, typing whilst thinking how much a friend owes me from last night... cant multi-task... but wicked, thanks 4 the input... think ill just go witht the standard one aswell.

Sony Alpha A200 DSLR review roundup

Posted Mar 27th 2008 10:49AM by Darren Murph
Filed under: Digital Cameras

Although the A200 has been on store shelves for a tick since its US debut at CES, we wouldn't blame you for clutching that $700 / $900 tight until a handful of reviews hit the 'net. Thankfully, that time has come, and here's what we're hearing. Overall, the highly anticipated successor to the A100 was deemed a "solid entry-level DSLR that doesn't really stand out in its very competitive field," but that's not to say it's not worth checking out. When viewed in isolation, most reviewers found the build quality, built-in image stabilization, battery life, dust reduction system and respectable image quality to be above average, but those already slinging an A100 will find very few reasons to upgrade. Still, critics on the whole found more to love than despise about Sony's A200, so be sure and give those eyes a workout on the review links below if you've been fiddling with the idea of picking one up.

Read - PhotographyBLOG (4.5 out of 5; Highly Recommended)
Read - Steve's Digicams ("...a worthy competitor in the entry-level market...")
Read - CNET (7.0 out of 10; Very Good)
Read - Digital Camera Resource Page ("...reminded me a lot of my experiences with the Pentax K10D...")

lol, im clearly out the phtography circle - whats wrong with Jessops? is it simply price... because im the type of person wholl pay extra just to know i can walk into a shop and scare people if somethign doesnt work, plus when i like buy something, i like to get something in my hand, not an e-mail saying "your product is soon coming" lol

Assume that the assistants in Jessops know nothing. Not once have any of them been able to help me when I've gone in looking for anything. I have been known to stand and argue in the most heated manner with their staff.

Jessops has the advantage of cheap deasl on certain cameras but I'd not go there for the advice. A lot of the indies are good. York camera mart always has great staff and they know their lenses from the lapses and their arses from their apertures.
