Nikon D70s, 18-70 kit lens, 2 sb-800s for that night

I use the D70s myself, that lens is really quite good, I like the wide angled shots that it gives but my flashgun is knackered at the moment, it got broke when I moved house, I'll need to get around to sending it away for fixing...

The 18-70 is an awesome lens for its price, get the right lighting and the shots can be so sharp!

Totally! In the absence of my flashgun I managed to acquire a f1.8 50mm Nikon kit lens for about £30 off a vendor who clearly didn't have a clue, it's not so good for those wide angled shots, but it really gives you nice crisp closeups cos you can throw the apeture wide open, boost the shutter speed and take the ISO right down (although I am quite fond of a grainy shot!)

hmmm I know someone who might be interested in a 50mm lens. Would you recommend them then? They seem quite cheap but i like the idea of f1.8. I know for a bit more you can get f1.4 aswel

I know - I would love an f1.4 but they're slightly out of my price range at the moment! I would definately recommend this one

I've used this guy before, he's based in Hong Kong, I got my flashgun from him and it was here within 3 days! I would have gone to him for the lens as well but I managed to get it more locally.
