Admittedly i've never used polaroid, but i've always loved the effect it's given, the ease of use and the whole culture that's built up around it.
It's hard not to love polaroid, which makes it so sad that at the end of 2008, they won't make their instant film anymore. *sniff*

Save Polaroid. Save the World.

On February 8, 2008, Polaroid Corporation announced that it will discontinue production of all instant film. This site will document the aftermath of this announcement and will serve as a home-base for the effort to convince another company to begin producing the cherished technology that Polaroid has so carelessly abandoned.

This site is not about saving Polaroid, the company, rather the remarkable invention of Edwin Land, the instant film that made Polaroid a household name.

I always like to see the experimental polaroids. When people scratch them, burn them, and do other odd things while the picture is still developing.

Several companies are negotiating to license the technology from Polaroid, so I don't think that there is any real danger that Edwin Land's invention will disappear forever.
