well thats odd... change the file extension from avi to xxx (rename the file while in Safe Mode).. then try to delete it in Safe Mode. There is a much longer way around it.. but see if this works, first.

If you are in Sae Mode.. it shouldn't be able to load.
you can try doing it from the Command Prompt.. Goto Start--> Run type CMD and hit OK at the command prompt change to the directory where the file is located. example: CD C:\Windows\System (press enter) once you are in the correct folder root.. delete the file example: del movie.avi (press enter)

I should have sent a picture.. easier..
The CD (change directory) command looks like this. substitue the destination for where the file actually is... ![]() Once in the correct folder in the Command Prompt.. delete it using the DEL command followed by the full filename.

thats odd.. well your AntiVirus should have gotten rid of the file if it were infected.
Either way about it.. SpyBot has a nifty little feature in it called "Secure Shredder" Once in SpyBot, up Top on the menu bar, goto Mode--> Advanced Mode Then on left, goto Tools and be sure there is a check mark in Secure Shredder, then select it from the list. Drag and drop the file into that window.

and your antivirus program won't get rid of it? I'd get rid of the antivirus program if it is that nasty of a bug, it got by and it won't let you delete it.
Most Antivirs programs add a rt-click mouse, function to your menu that should let you scan and or delete that file using its tool.
