Default Looking for Full Time

Hi all, I'm getting to the stage now where I pick either uni, or a job. So to cover all bases I'm applying for both. Does anyone know of any specific jobs OR a site which lists jobs in the Yorkshire area.

Ideally I'm after a middleweight front-end developer position in a pretty decent agency. None of this Junior Developer nonsense lol.

Thanks, any help is appreciated :)

Harry

Harry; if you want the opinion of someone who has already been this route, get your degree and build your career on a solid foundation. Don't be too impatient to get started. You are clearly a talented young guy, so do yourself a favour, and think carefully about your future as a whole, not just the next year or so. I can't think of anyone I have ever met, who is working at the upper levels of the industry, who hasn't at the very least got decent B.A.

Harry, just stick in google, "graphic designer, yorkshire".
Being from Newcastle, theres rarely any opportunities up here but there is always something going in yorkshire, b@stards lol)
Try creativepool.co.uk or reed.co.uk I found them useful

Surprising how many people are looking for young web devs with no degree. Firstly because a 3 year course is usually out of date by the time you get to use it due to the ever changing face of the internet, I think you do right to check out both. I was due to go off to uni and got a job 2 weeks before I went and never looked back, I always employ on studio experience rather than if the person has a degree or not.

I think these days most people are happy with a diploma qualification (in australia at least) they just want to get someone cheap. If you start with the lower wages and work your experience up, you should get a fairly solid foundation for your career. At least thats the path I'm taking, hope it works out for me in the long run.

I think also because our career is very portfolio based, we have the opportunity to get in with no diploma/degree (as easy or hard as some may find it).

Hehe, got an informal interview here on Monday. It's in a posh part of Leeds (apparently).

Cheers Flick.

I've just got back from my interview with Sense - WOW.
A really fantastic place. An amazing place: couches, coffee tables littered with design publications, on two floors with the project managers upstairs with exposed wooden beams, conference room with giant projector (which I had my site up on for the interview), laid back, really talented staff, high brow client base, diverse skill set, really impressive benefits (training in particular).

I'm potentially starting in June - Get in!!!
