Default pc speakers

hey guys i got yet an other problem my brother rebooted the pc and the audio doesnt work now when i click into the volume control it doesnt alow acess to any opitions, i have googles this but im not too sure on what to be googling so i tot id ask you guys so any suggestions??

I probably know about as much as you, maybe better to wait for someone who's PC savvy.

Replacing a Sound Card - Illustrated How to Install a Sound Card Replacement

From what I understand it's a card like thing that goes in the PC and usually has plugs on which the speakers go into, (again I think).

the driver might not be installed, click on start, right click on my computer, click on properties, click on hardware, click on device manager, check if there are any unknown devices. If there are then you need to identify the sound card brand and model and install the drivers for it.
