Patent Search - Graphic Design Forum and Web Design Forum

Hello, I just would like to know if anyone knows a web site whereas you can check online if a name is available, not a design. I've done searching and my search options were grim and only seem to come up with designs (as in product designs)

If you're asking about a site where you can check a name for your domain, the answer is http://www.checkdomain.com/
If that's not what you mean..what do you mean by "available name"?

Sorry, I meant to search if you want to patent a name like copyright, or trademark a name you can search to see if the name is not already patent in North America.

Alright, thank you Toon. PR Design that is for patent designs "Google Patents" I'm searching for names like say for example I type in "helmet" the site would let me know if that name is already patented or I could own the patent, within north america.

Ah, right. Isn't that more of a trademark? I thought patents were solely for designs...
