Default Just got an imac, hurrah!

After a few years out of the game, i've decided to leave the world of pc's (at home anyway) and get an imac again. My last one was an old g3 that had a heart attack when i tried to install OSX on it! Was never the same after that, poor sod...

Anyone have any tips for a new mac user? :chris:

I know macs are supposed to be less susceptible to viruses and the like... but should i still be looking to buy a firewall or anything?

I've never had anything on a mac in 10 years but there's always the first time. Our studio has 5 and we never run any antivirus software.

I bet we do the minute we get our first virus but I don't think there's that many about.

Macs have had one known exploit to date, NO Viruses or Trojans or Malware. Exploits come out and there patched instantly.

Enjoy every minute... mine never gets boring! (Remember to upgrade to Leopard! 64bit mmmmm Yum Yum)

I have owned a 2 mac's along and various PC's since 1998.

I never got one VIRUS / Damaging exploit over the internet. in the almost 10 years i have owned a mac it only crashed once. ONCE! i do not lie.

Only downside, when the mac crashed... it Friggin CRASHED Hardcore!
