A bank holiday is a national holiday (all the banks and financial institutions close too). You get these holidays on memorable days (Like the Queen's birthday). It's like extra holidays you get on top of your annual leave and they're always a good excuse for a booze up (you two would like them!)

heeey! why doesn't sweden have bank holidays! well..we shouldn't complain since we recently had valborg (walpurgis in english)..do you guys celebrate walpurgis?

prewe and i discussed why swedes celebrate walpurgis but well..we have absolutley no idea..

all we really know about it is that too young people gets too drunk and that people light huuuuge fires (controlled ones)
