I would fight it, if you shout loud enough you usually get what you want! I remember dealing with Jessops just after I had bought my D70, I went through 3 of them before I got one that worked properly. With the first one the autofocus was f*cked, the second one had an intermittant fault that wouldn't allow me to expose properly - that was the problem one as they "couldn't recreate the fault in the shop" Hello! That's why it was intermittant! I stood in the shop and argued for an hour and a half with the stupid 19 year old salesboy before I got it replaced, it was getting the the stage that other people in the shop were backing me up!

Put in a formal letter of complaint and threaten to take them to whatever your equivilant of Trading Standards is and then see what happens.

yeah i tried to argue with the salesman, but he referred to nikon directly. but they said "there's no chance you're NOT paying that money. it's either that or you pay €30 and get no camera in return."
