if i was picking. iPhone
Hi everyone,
Just wanting to ask for your advice.
I've decided to treat myself to a new phone, and have decided that a 3G touch thing-a-ma-jig that I can read emails from and access the internet with is the way forward.
But I'm not sure what to get - an iPhone, or a Blackberry?
I've seen a deal for £35 a month for a Blackberry with unlimited texts, internet, emails and 600 minutes, but this is a 24-month contract and I'm not sure I want to keep the same phone for that long to be honest.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance :)

Would you get the full features/worth/experience of an iPhone if you have a PC?
Any reason, mate?
Yes.
just cause its the cool thing to do. I have several people at work with iPhones & blackberries.
The designers have iPhones.. the sales guys have blackberries.
Which one are you? ;)

Haha, neither :)
I've got an iPhone, and will definitely get another one. I have a Mac for it to play with, but you can still hook it up to a PC with iTunes. I sync it with my contacts and calendar on the Mac, not sure if it would do the same through Outlook on your PC - might be worth looking into! Obviously it replaced my iPod as a music player as well, which was important to me.
24 month contract is something i'd steer away from as well. Shame all the 12 month deals have tended to dry up...
I'm going to break the mold here. I have a BlackBerry and plan to stick with them. I can't see buying a phone that doesn't have voice dialing and the BB syncs seamlessly with my calendaring/task software. That and what's this I hear about iPhone not having copy/paste? I'd find that really frustrating. But those are my priorities.
Given your priorities, I'd say test drive both. Examine the interface closely. Check out your email and browsing experience.
Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about the two year deal. That's all we've got here in the States now. If you take good care of your device, you can always resell it.
Either way, I think you'll really enjoy adding email and web to your phone experience.

If I had the money I would contemplate getting the iPhone, as I think the features would be an excellent extension to my daily life.
But does the cost and/or the contract's they are currently on, warrant the price... considering that in a years time there contracts could be better and the prices cheaper?
