Yeah, getting a work placement is good for some font 'getting'. But remember to be selective - macs can't take that many fonts unless you install a manager

Font book handles font's fine.

Up to a point yeah, but after a point it gets a bit clogged and programs load really slow at the font reading stage, even if you turn a lot of them off. I have done this trust me. Of course he could have been something else mind

Mine works fine I have 5000 fonts all turned on at one time 2.5 gig memory. I can have every CS programmme open plus quark 5 browsers. When I add some fonts the only programme that takes a while to load them is in design.
On the old OS you couldn't do this too many fonts even slowed the startup but on the new os Font Book works perfect.

mmmmm maybe they improved it in tiger then - as I say, might have been my set up as much as the program. word takes a eon
