I hope I didn't overlook this thread somewhere else. If I did, could you move this for me?
Anyways, I've always thought that one of the most creative album covers was In Through the Out Door by Led Zeppelin.
What made the cover so great was that it is a sepia cover and when you got a paintbrush or some cloth wet and ran it over the artwork, it turned into a watercolor with different colors.
Another favorite of mine would probably be The Scorpions album Blackout. I was always intrigued about the forks as the glasses and the shattering.
What are yours and why? And don't just list them and say they are just because....give us a story.

Good thread idea Wilky!
Led Zep 3. Designed by Richard Drew, a lecturer in fine arts at Leeds Polytechnic.
If you young'uns haven't seen (or held) this LP cover, the artwork spins inside the gatefold cover and shows different images thru the die cut circular windows. Trippy.
PS Jimmy Page didn't like it.
PPS Who's seeing Zep on Nov 26?

I've always liked the Revolver cover myself!
On another note, when I went to buy the Magical Mystery Tour album (only about five years ago!), the rather chavvy girl in Woolworths took one look at it, and then laughed in my face!

Revolver is amazing! I think Sheryl Crow paid homage to it with this album cover.
