out of curiosity, what do y'all think of the Google logo?

to me the explanation for the reasoning of its design sounds like a load of B.S., all it took was a copy of photoshop and then 1. Type "Google" 2. Drop shadow 3.bevel.

honestly, it hurts my eyes, but fortunately i've learned to block it from site on their homepage.

Their portfolio is increadibly poor, I'm thinking the size of the brand itself makes up for the fact the logo is poor no matter what they do with it

Neah ... don't think so. That logo was made when they (Google) were practically nobody. I don't think they got a huge check out of Google. The Nike logo was made for 35$.

I'm amazed at the fact that in their client list Google is the 13th. I would think you would like to highlight such a huge client ....

Big client they are, known for their style they're not!

Sometimes less is more. Google focus more on the functionality of the products and services they offer.

Simple is good! Not their simple. Many of you all could have done a better job with that. It's hard to believe that designer taught design at Stanford. I have been working for years to be ready to teach when a position opens up here locally, need at least a Masters.

I only like the Google Logo when it's decorated for this holidays. Otherwise, I've always thought that the design was rubbish.

Yes .. some special events / holidays Google logos are good.
