get rid of glosses, bevel and emboss, ect ect ect. The key thing to remember with a logotype is SIZE!!!!! - it has to look good at incredibly small sizes like 10px for example, or on a sponsor website where the available space is only something like 100px.
Good work so far, but keep it simple.

colors are hard to read.
i think it's the turquoise that makes it difficult.

this is a massive learning curve for me...also should be interesting for other budding designers to see the effort involved in logo's and the evolution of an idea....i love it..

I agree too, the second one is best on the eye although I do love the font of the first one - what is it by the way??

I also reckon the one you have just posted would work better as a logo then the others as it could be shrunk to a small size with still visible, and readable text...However I think the rich yellowy orange with the dark grey ere the best colours to use as I recon they could be real dramatic on a website...
