what is it with all the new ones, the 50% of the entries are really good and the others shouldn't even be on the site they're that bad

I'd go with number 2, I really like the logotype. Your text is pretty good also, that'd be a nice web 2.0 logo.

Its got to be the second one. Much more thought and unity in the fontstyle and the icon design. It reminds you of a diamond ring doesn't it?
