first one looks like something taken from a logo template site, it's bland and boring. There are other fonts out there, besides Impact that came with your copy of Windows XP.

And the second one is not a logo at all. Beautiful illustration, really - but it's not a logo, nor it says "record label" to me. And I guess B&W won't mind your logo:

It does say "record label" when seen in the right context, hadn't heard of B&W, i just set out to create something a little different at the time. The client had very specific requirements and he was happy with the results, it was what he was looking for. In some instances its not about whether it "says" whatever its supposed to say, its about whether the client likes it or not.

well, it always good to make the above statements ALONG with the logo designs. And on the other hand, you clearly stated:

Beats me. Maybe because English is not my native language, I understood that the logos still aren't approved by the clients. Now it turns out that your client wanted this one and he's quite happy with it.

I'm not saying that the logo should always "speak" record label. But without any company name, it really doesn't say record label, it says "loudspeaker manufacturer". The other issue - how does it work in black & white? How does it work in small sizes?

You're saying : "it's about whether the client likes it or not" - does that mean that you like it as well? Or just did the job and got the cash?

Not trying to insult, nor to intimidate you...I just take logo design business very, very seriously.

I said they'd not been released to the companies, not that the Clients hadn't seen them and/or liked/disliked them.
