As the owner of a brand, I wouldn´t like my logo to be soooooooo simple that anyone could create a fake item and stamp the damn thing in about 5 minutes...

ok so youve completely missed the point here! what i was trying to say was whats the point in having a logo that is un-memorable or super complex?? a logo such as the hugo boss identity is easy to remember! you could give anyone in the western world a pencil and paper and they would be able to draw something very close because its memorable and simple not because theyre gunna marker pen it onto bottles of vinegar and sell it on street corners!!

LOL you're obviously not familiar with piracy and its methods.

It exists and it´s something I would consider while designing a logo, specially for a worldwide brand.

The more "simple" a logo is, the more convincing the fake items are, so the less products HB actually sells. It´s all part of the same deal.

I can't think of many logos that can't be reproduced by fraudsters?

They all can be reproduced, but when a logo is as simple as HB, the fake items are much more convincing because something simple is EASIER to reproduce as well.
