Thought I might introduce myself - I just jumped in yesterday and realized today I didn't do this part :) First off, I'd like to thank Toon for sending me the invite/notification of this forum - I always love finding great new resources - especially when so many people have the same type of humor I've got. (I will say I've never seen so many nearly-naked asses as avatars on a forum in my life though - gotta love that! And the stripper with the spinning pasties LOL)

I always had an interest in computers (my first was a Commodore 64 when I was 6), but didn't realize I could actually make a living at it until 1999. So I quit the cooking industry (I'm a former pastry chef) when I had my son in 2004 to seriously focus on my web design. I was *planning* to take my time with it, so by the time my little ones started school, I could buckle down and really get it going. I don't know what happened though, because the biz is taking off without me about 5 years ahead of time, so I'm frantically trying to keep up between diaper changes.

Right now, my focus is to find time to finally finish my business site redesign. I don't know what it is, but it always seems like the focus is always on clients, and not so much on myself. So I'll be posting the new design for testing soon (if you all don't mind) - I REALLY want to get that done before the month is out.

Anyway, I s'pose that's enough to start with. Hope I can contribute around here :)

i don't know of a better community of designers to get advice from, though they can be a bit soft with the critiques at times.
