Default The Big Word Project

This is the creation of Lee Munroe and Paddy Donnelly. I've got to know Lee a little through the blogoshphere and he dropped me an email about The Big Word Project. Pretty nifty idea, and I like the less is more design.

What do you guys make of it?

nice design, but I can't find a word to buy so it's a bit of a waste of time otherwise I'd have bought one. Why no use phrases rather than just words?

I think it is a pretty neat idea. I ended up getting a bit addicted to it and bought like 5 or 6 words for my blog. These guys are going to make a decent chunk of change off of this. Wait until the press gets wind.

It will most likely be picked up by the media soon so that is definitely good for some exposure (traffic)...not to mention the potential is there for use in web applications later - think it could lead to bigger and better web-based technologies/mashups down the road.

like what? click a button.. goto my website. "Hmmm button, lets sell it... I'll put your name on it and call it a widget. Would you like it with a reflection or embossed in purple"....

there's some groundbreaking technology...

hmmm...sound a little bitter, guess you wish you had thought of it? I definitely have some thoughts/ideas on uses for this down the road, but that isn't your concern. No worries, mate...it must be difficult not to be positive and/or forward-thinking. Good luck.

I quite like the design of the site.. but come on, really... $1 per letter for a button link

A brilliant way to fund their educations...I give them props

A buck a letter though is a pretty small (one-time) cost for the amount of exposure everyone is anticipating...even moreso if you get the more common smaller words. Think about it if/when the media gets a hold of it? Boom!

I came across some site very similar to this the other day. Only like Toon was saying, you could actually type your own tags. It was pay per letter I believe. Anyone else see this? I friggen didnt save the link...
