Default Quicktime in Flash

So I got a quicktime movie clip. I want it to play in Flash. And, as soon as the clip is over, I want to fade in some text. that's it. simple as can be, but I've been out of it as far as my flash knowledge goes.

Yes, I'll be Googling to try to find my answer. Just I value people's expertise here more, that's why I'm asking the question here.

I got Flash v.8 to work with. thanks.

If I'm understanding right, this is what I would do...

I would add a movie clip on the last frame, on a separate layer above your embedded Quicktime movie.

Then, in that movie clip, add your text (as a symbol) and tween it, using the Alpha settings (in the Properties window, under the Color drop-down menu), to get the fade in effect.

How fast you want it to fade in will depend on your frame rate, and how many frames you use for the tween.

Does that help?

You should convert your quicktime file to FLV. You can then use actionscript to monitor when the video is completed, and call a movieclip to play.

Otherwise, import the quicktime movie into video editing software and add the text to the actual movie itself.

converted the quicktime mov to FLV usings flash's converter component. Then added it as an .FLV component to the main scene. then I found a little actionscript that added a listener to know when the movie file ends. you can see it here on a temp page:

2 Skinnee J's The Saga Continues...

i didn't do the video, but the super advanced text fade in/outs are mine ;)
