Ummm Having heard or neither being a UK, it is hard to say. I'd say probably both will open doors for the right person. I mean there are places that are better than others, but more often its about the work and portfolio and attitude you come away with. I'd investigate links to industry too as these are invaluble for not only job experience but commercial input. I now Stefan Sagmeister does a lot of lecturing in NY, so if you can get his, and similar, input, it will certainly boost you work.
The other side of it is a personal thing. Which is better for you? Where would you prefer to go?
