i've been doing graphics for some time and now would like to teach myself web design, hehe. My only web experience is a very simple website put together with Dreamweaver. Any tips on where to start, what's worth reading? Any good self-tutorials???

Start with those in dreamweaver. This will give you as basic grounding in HTML and CSS. Then move onto the sites listed here on various topics.

I have had great success from books by lynda.com. the books are simple and easy read that guide you through the steps. Try layers magazine they also have tons of content and the monthly magazine also has tons of information which makes it a good read.
