well it depends on whether they have a domain name and/or hosting or whether they want you to host it for them. sending them the files is ok if they have their domain name and hosting and an IT literate person to upload it for them.
regarding making updates themselves, i take it they would just be text updates? if so they can just use notepad or any html editor

I would upload it yourself then you have more control over it. If they want to change stuff you will need to build in a CMS this will increase the price alot.
I know a few people who overcharge for CMS systems on purpose so the client needs the designer to update their sites at a cost. |

Thanks for the quick replies.
I really don't much about the project. I just wanted to ask now so I can get everything I will sorted. Next time I speak to them, I will find out whether they have a domain and hosting, although I doubt they do. As for the CMS, I am doing the whole thing for free (to build my portfolio) so not sure whether CMS would be an option. I presume it will just be text updates, so I could just send them the files and let them edit the html as and when its needed. Cheers guys |
