Help with image display!

Hey there, So I want to make a way to show images on the same page as the link. I don't know what to call this, or how to describe it very well obviously...but it goes like this;

I have a drop down list, when you press submit, or go, whatever, the image you selected shows up in a section under the drop down. Does that make sense? Any ideas?

The site looks good but why use the flat images and not a mootools option of lightbox, slimbox etc. It gives so much more to the user....

Also scripts like this it doesn't matter the size of the screen as it's an overlay and unobtrusive?
