I'm going to be a lazy ass, instead of my usual trawling through web articles and blogs, I thought I'd ask the 'perts on here

Got an interview next week for a groovy design company up here in Newcastle. I had just emailed them yesterday with my CV as they had a Junior Designer job advertised on their website.
He emailed back straight away asking for a day for interview, and thats it.

Would it be niave of me to email back asking what he wants me to bring? I know the good old black portfolio has seen better days, and all of my work is practically online, so is it really necessary to take my portfolio?
Any other advice, hints, tips? I'm crapping my panties now lol

Well Im assuming he must have seen something he likes, else he wouldnt have contacted? But I guess I'm worried I can't show him, anything more in a way.

What I did is just emailed back and said

"Hi, I was wondering, is there a particular dress code to adhere to on *******? It would be a nightmare if I were to over/under dress. Also, the majority of my portfolio is based online due to the nature of the work, would you like me to also bring in a hard copy of some of my more relevant projects?"

They won't think any less of you, the opposite in fact 'cos as Toon said it shows you're serious. After all, you're no less human than they are...

i think it'll be not be very naive.. you should just go with you CV and other documents..

He did email back stating not to take anything.
I was late for the first time in my life!! arrgghhh
But he did admint that they only recently moved and it wasnt well signposted - damn right it wasnt!! lol

It went well, we had a good rapport, the guy was younger than I would have expected so it was nice to relate. But I didn't hold my breath as I've never succeeded as of yet.... and I havent heard anything and its been a week now so I assume I didnt get it.

Probs get a standardised letter in the post a month from now pmsl
